Briscoe back on top leader board, fastest in practice at Pocono



LONG POND, Pa. (July 29, 2016) - Chase Briscoe picked up right where he left off - on top of the leader board. Briscoe, in the No. 77 Big Tine Ford, was fastest overall in ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards practice Friday morning at Pocono Raceway.

Briscoe, on a three-race win streak, put down the fastest lap around the 2.5-mile triangle with a time of 53.509 seconds, an average speed of 168.196 mph. The one lap ARCA track record at Pocono was set by Brennan Poole (Venturini Motorsports) in 2012 with a time of 51.857 (173.554 mph).

John Wes Townley, making his return to the driver's seat here at Pocono, looked good on the leader board, coming in second at 167.917 mph in the No. 05 Jive Communications Chevrolet.

Christopher Bell, making his career-first Pocono attempt, was third overall in the No. 15 JBL Toyota at 167.682 mph. Dalton Sargeant and Myatt Snider were fourth and fifth.

Twenty-eight cars are in the ARCA garage.

Menards Pole Qualifying presented by Ansell is next at 2:00 p.m.

The ModSpace 150 is live on FS1 at 5:30 this afternoon, the 63rd ARCA race on the Pocono triangle since 1983.
