Briscoe fastest in practice at Iowa

NEWTON, Iowa (July 9, 2016) - Current ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards championship leader Chase Briscoe is up to his old short track tricks...he's fastest on the board.

Briscoe, in the No. 77 Big Tine Ford, was fastest in practice Saturday at Iowa Speedway in preparation for tonight's ABC Supply 150 presented by Casey's General Store. Briscoe circled the .875-mile oval in 24.137 seconds (130.505 mph).

Briscoe will be going for his sixth consecutive short track Menards Pole presented by Ansell this afternoon. Briscoe is five for five in short track poles in 2016.

Ranier Racing with MDM was second and third on the board with Kyle Benjamin (24,320/129.523) and Harrison Burton (24.474/128.708). Burton is the son of NASCAR Sprint Cup driver Jeff Burton.

Kyle Weatherman and Mason Mtichell followed in fourth in fifth on the leader board. Mitchell, from nearby W. Des Moines, Iowa, is the defending race winner.

Menards Pole Qualifying presented by Ansell is next at 3:15 p.m. local Central time.
