– Briscoe qualified ninth and finished ninth in Stage 1 to pick up two stage points. – The No. 98 Ford Mustang came to pit road at the end of Stage 1 for four tires, fuel and a wedge adjustment. – Briscoe started Stage 2 in 24th and raced back into the top 15 by the next caution on lap 36. – The No. 98 team stayed out under caution and restarted 14th on lap 40. – The Ford Performance team finished seventh in Stage 2 to pick up an additional four points. – Briscoe started the final stage in sixth was racing in the 10th position when the caution came out on lap 79. – The No.98 Ford Performance Mustang came to pit road for four tires, fuel and chassis adjustments on lap 79, but received an uncontrolled tire penalty and was forced to restart at the tail end of the field on lap 84. – The team restarted 19th and immediately raced its way up to 13th by the lap-87 caution. – The No. 98 team stayed out under caution to restart 13th on lap 92, but raced into the top 10 by the next caution on lap 93. – The No. 98 restarted ninth with four laps remaining and picked up one position in the closing laps to finish eighth. – Briscoe collected his 20th top-10 finish of 2019 and second top-10 finish in two career Xfinity Series starts at Indianapolis Motor Speedway.

“We didn’t start off great with our balance. We just missed it a little bit when we unloaded and it put us behind all weekend long. We tried to play catch up, but it’s tough at a place like this where speed is crucial. We just missed it a little bit, but I know that we are getting better each week. Coming back next year hopefully we’ll do a little better job, but for what I feel has been our worst race all year long to salvage an eighth-place finish when we probably weren’t a top-10 car is definitely encouraging. We’re going to Las Vegas next week and I think we’ll be really strong and get back to where we’ve been.”
